Almost 30 years of experience in the field of recruitment has led Anne Wallman to establish Career Selections.  Understanding the recruitment process, the frustrations, highs and lows from the client and candidate perspectives has enabled Anne to conceive a different kind of job seeking service.

How are we different?  Well, the most important difference is that we focus on our candidates in a way that is unique in the industry.  By working with our candidates as career development counselors, we gain a true understanding of their strengths, challenges, likes and dislikes.  It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if somebody is well placed in a job and company that are compatible with their personality and skills they will be happy and work harder and be a more productive member of the team.  People vastly more qualified than we are have conducted studies and written books about the subject(1).   So whereas many third party recruiters focus purely on their client companies’ requirements and spend little time discovering what the candidate wants, we feel it benefits everyone to know what makes the candidate happy.

Our detailed counseling approach is effective and produces results where other recruiters have failed.  We advise our clients and candidates on many issues.  If both parties have realistic expectations we can move forward and make a good match.  Our experience has shown that job/candidate searches fail when there is a disconnect between what a client is willing to offer in a job and what a candidate is willing to accept.  Even in a tight job market there are difficult to find candidates and difficult to fill jobs.  We will work with both parties to ensure that everyone has expectations that can be met.

Job seekers will gain insights into their own motivations, strengths and weaknesses and forge a clear path towards a rewarding and stimulating career.  Employers will learn to focus in on the real essentials of the role they are seeking to fill and find out what will attract and retain the best candidates for their company.
